I haven’t been able to figure it out. If you invest in two different currency pairs that mirror each other, how does a person expect to make any money, Does anyone know how to do this? which currency pairs do you use and how much can a person hope to earn, percentage wise, in relation to their original investment.
Also I currently use Oanda any problems I should know about regarding this broker?
Thanks in advance

I am an active investor, have done well with common stocks, Nasdaq and NYSE, but am new to foreign currency exchange. I do my own homework, and have had mixed experience with several forex brokers over the past months. I have used FXCM and Saxobank in London, both are rather large firms. While seeking a mentor, I recently received a promotion in the mail from an Atwood and James, which appears to be a small operation, but the fellow seemed to know a bit about forex, and spent the time to share his experience. So far, with the larger firms I am ahead of the game, but only slightly. Any suggestions or help or experience with smaller brokers? Anyone have experience with these Atwood and James people?

Forex Rollover Interest Strategy?
Filed Under Investing | 2 Comments
I have a joint account and an individual account with the same Forex broker. Would it be illegal if i were to go long on one account and short on the second account on the same currency? The goal is to collect the rollover interest after a week. It seems like a strategy that’s too good to be true.
Would i suffer any tax consequences if i transfer funds from the account with the capital gains to the account with the capital loses to make things equal again? The reason i ask is because the joint account is co-owned by someone else.
The reason i can’t short and long the same currency on one account is because the broker’s trading platform doesn’t allow it.

hi
I found several search results about some products saying that they are automated and make us money on autopitlo . Did anybody out there really make money out of it without losses guaranteed? Are the Forex brokers cooperative enough to allow us to redeem our funds?

Can I claim Forex losses on federal taxes? Is there a limit? Do I need a form? What if I already filed?
Filed Under United States | 3 Comments
In 2008 I had Forex losses. Can I claim these on my federal taxes?
Is there a limit to the amount I can claim?
Will the claim count as a “deduction” or can I still keep the standard deduction?
Do I need a form from my broker? If so, what form?
What if I already filed, can I file an amendment or something?
THANKS!

I’d like to find 2 pips or less on EUR/USD. I used to trade with IB, which has a spread of about 1 pip, but they also charge a commission. What other tight spread brokers are there? I’m sure I’ve seen 2 pips before.

Does anyone know in order to move the forex market 1 pip, (say on EURUSD with a retail broker), how much volume would need to go in at a specific price point?
To contrast with the stock market, if we look at a thinly traded stock, buying a few hundred shares may be enough to move the stock up a penny.

Hello everyone,
I want to start trading forex and I am still hesitating about a lot of things.
First, most people say they have bad experiece trading forex.
I know that even Warren Buffet (I don’t know how to spell it exactly:)) said that: “In stocks you could predict the price of a stock, but how can you predict the price of currency”)-
That in fact sounds very reasonable since we all know that in shares it’s enough to read a news that some company has planned to invest some money in Rolls Royce…to say…and then you buy shares from Rolls Royce…But wherefrom you can guess that USD will not find a way up again?
Some people say that the forex brokers have very high commisions and thus you can never win? Is it me or this sounds very stupid?
How about you? What was the amount of money you started and how much you have earned?
Thanks alot!!!
